I don't see any need for Buddhists to take any special stance on Global Warming. There is still much debate about the actual causes, and such debate is often heated, and productive of yet more global warming. In view of what it says in the Sattasuriya Sutta, I don't think we as Buddhists need to concern ourselves with this issue.

We should focus on the spiritual issue of mollifying human greed, which is the root cause of unrestrained consumerism, which in turn might be a contributory factor of global warming. If one could restain human greed, then global warming might be reversed, but as you know, there is no fire quite like the fire of craving.
